Newton's Second Law of Motion
**Newton's Second Law of Motion** states that the acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force acting on it, and inversely proportional to its mass. Mathematically, it is written as:
Where:
- **F (Force):** The push or pull exerted on an object, measured in **Newtons (N)**. One Newton is equal to $1\text{ kg}\cdot\text{m/s}^2$.
- **m (Mass):** The amount of matter in the object, measured in **Kilograms (kg)**.
- **a (Acceleration):** The rate of change of velocity, measured in **meters per second squared (m/s²)**.
Manipulating the Formula
Depending on which values are known, we use the following equations:
- **To find Force:** $F = m \times a$
- **To find Mass:** $m = F / a$
- **To find Acceleration:** $a = F / m$
